Environmental, Social and Governance – ESG

Our Commitment to a Better Future: Gala Retail’s ESG Strategy 2024–2030

At Gala Retail, we believe that doing good is good business. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Strategy that will guide us through 2024 to 2030, ensuring that sustainability, community, and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do.

Our ESG Strategy reflects our promise to build a more sustainable retail experience across Ireland, and to work with our retailers in making Gala stores, convenience stores for the future. As part of our plan, Gala Retail has committed €500,000 in Greener Grants to our retailers to help fund sustainable improvements across our Estate. Whether it’s reducing our carbon footprint, supporting local causes, or ensuring transparency in how we operate, we are committed to creating positive change – for our customers, our people, and the planet.

This strategy focuses on three key pillars:

Environmental: Minimising waste, saving energy, and protecting the environment across our stores and operations.
Social: Supporting communities, promoting diversity and inclusion, and caring for our team members and customers.
Governance: Upholding high standards of ethics, accountability, and responsible business practices.

We’re proud to take the next step in our ESG journey and look forward to working closely with our retailers and partners to deliver meaningful impact at every level of our business.
