Gala's Fundraising 'Drive'

This month, the Foundation will assist its 1000th family in Ireland in a relatively short eleven years. Virtually the same day the Foundation received a further boost with the news that, as of July, Gala - Ireland's fastest growing retailer of the last decade - will raise an astonishing €250,000 for the charity - the Jack & Jill Foundation's largest-ever private donation!
To celebrate the convenience retailer's 10th year in business, Gala's Chief Executive, Gary Desmond, announced the Group's largest-ever corporate social responsibility programme, with all 200 stores in the Gala Group participating in the fundraising drive.
The funds raised will go towards facilitating the Foundation's ten nurses' mileage costs as they travel to families across the country - all the more poignant in today's environment with ever-spiralling fuel costs.
"This year, Gala celebrates its 10th year in business and we felt that there was no better time to giveback to the communities that have supported us throughout the years. With stores country-wide, from Letterkenny to Listowel, many of our retailers' staff, shoppers, family and friends know of families helped by the foundation.
"It's a testament to the amazing work of the Foundation that they have supported 1000 families and we hope that Gala's donation will make a difference and ensure the Foundation's vital work in the future."
Gala's fundraising campaign will include an extensive in-store promotion. If you would like to contribute then you can purchase a €2 pin in-store and help drive funds for the Jack & Jill Foundation.
