Gala goes Nationwide

Advertising Retail group Gala has launched two new sponsorships which the company says will reinforce its Irish heritage and connections to Irish communities.
The symbol group has signed a deal with RTE which will see it sponsor the Nationwide TV programme, with Gala 'stings' to be aired at the start and finish of each programme, three times per week.
With viewership figures of over 400,000, Nationwide is one of the most popular shows on RTE, and covers local and community-based issues across the country. This, Gala CEO Gary Desmond said, made it the 'perfect fit' for Gala.
"It ticks all of the boxes in terms of the ethos of the programme and audience delivery. We're a 100% Irish-owned convenience group and large employer of Irish people. Akin to Nationwide, we are proud of our Irish heritage and culture and want to ensure its continued support," Desmond said.

10th Annual Oireachtas Media Awards

Advertising Gala also announced last week that it would sponsor the 10th annual Oireachtas Media Awards, which will celebrate presenters and programme makers who have contributed to the development of the Irish language media sector.
As part of the Gala sponsorship, a new award has been created - Gala Gael Star of the Year - which will allow consumers to vote for their favorite Irish-language TV star.
The two sponsorships form part of the wider 'Gala Goes Gael' campaign, details of which were first announced last year.
